"Yeah, Over and Forever are like the only songs I like from Drake."

That's weird because Forever is probably one of his worst songs ever tbh. And Over is decent but it's not even remotely his best "pure pop appeal" song.

and @jdennis: Yeah, if you really wanna "get" Drake, I'd recommend going So Far Gone -> Thank Me Later -> Take Care. You basically see his evolution as an artist and a person through them that ties into the music.

My favorite singles of his are Successful, Marvins Room, and Unforgettable.

Oh I thought Unforgettable was a single. I mean yeah I don't think it's THE best but I do like it a lot. Then I guess Fancy (I think that was one) and if not, then Miss Me since I don't think Dreams Money Can Buy or Trust Issues counts.

Lil Wayne's verse on that song was pretty good, Lil Wayne was a GOAT for a good while. I'd recommend checking out Tha Carter II and stuff. But I don't like that song because a) Cheap and cheesy beat (except for the piano part with Lil Wayne comes on) b) Bad Drake verse, hashtag flows galore c) Bad hook d) Bad Kanye verse

"@robertsona this thread is basically you and gabe jacking off in each others faces"

All Drake threads usually consist of that with the occasional intervening of planewreck, bringthejunz, andcas, Malleus, etc.

"hey gabe if i loved take care to death should i get this"

I'd recommend at least checking it out, it kind of has a different appeal than Take Care tho. It's

less artsy than Take Care and has more of a pop rap twist, but of course the more poppy songs are

still really well-written written and have that personal Drake twist and the R&B is as atmospheric

and great as ever. I'll give some examples

More "personal" rapping:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Sn6u5YPfZA (robertsona hates this song but I love it)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wymef8R9BCg

more "poppy" rapping with a side of Drake nightlife:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxZKmxmiNTU

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edNViP4nTJ0

dat R&B life:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jW_Xc88AOf0

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDUMJh_VCrw (this one is just a huge R&B epic)

also if you want the full "Drake" picture I'd really suggest getting So Far Gone, too. It basically

helps you see the big picture of what he's been doing.

From him being a young aspiring rapper just reaching for fame, money and love (So Far Gone) --> him

being thrust into fame and not knowing how to deal with it but assuring himself he deserves it

(Thank Me Later) --> him being at the top of the game at kind of looking down at his new "rule" and

kind of like the beginning of a small empire but having to deal with his vulnerability(Take Care)

yeah sorry just I was trying to give the broad picture

TL;DR: Yes I think you should at least check it out but keep in mind it's a lot more poppy and

anthemic/less artistic (still just as well-written poppier stuff tho) and you should also check out

his So Far Gone mixtape.
