dude, that drummer is amazing. I can't stop listening. I'll get Of Fracture And Failure this week for sure.

So far, most reviews of Endgame that I've seen have spoken only praise of the quality of the production. Is it me, or is there just too much layering to just enjoy the music properly, like in the good old "stripped and raw" days?

Honestly, not only is the bass barely (barely, barely) audible, but the rest of the tracks also seem too disjointed and not working in unison to form a healthy whole.

Production's fine on this album. Bass could be higher sure, but the album as a whole works fine for me

One thing for sure, the guitar tone has such a vintage metal sound. love it.

Excellent album by one of metal's pioneer bands. Good variety of songs, and awesome guitar work!

Alligator's right. This really has an 80s thrash feel to it. And that is definitely a good thing.

Shinidip:

Yes. This certainly a good step for the band. There seems to be energy in Megadeth again! UA showed that perhaps there was still life in Dave. Endgame confirms it. Although its no Rust it is still a seriously good listen

if only World Painted Blood had such a meaty production...

I guess I have to check this out. UA was really good IMO (I'm not a huge Megadeth fan) so it's great to hear that everyone really likes this album. But leave it to Megadeth fans to rain on Metallicas parade and bash the hell out of Death Magnetic which was their best album since The Black Album.

Slayer still blows both bands out of the water. But I'm definately going to check out Endgame.

Slayer hasn't released anything worthwhile for decades.

Yeah, I didn't really like UA, except a couple tracks, The System Has Failed had decent tracks, but this album is where it's at. He finally returned to form and wrote some great thrash riffs.

Fukin A, finally a good Megadeth album. Great guitar playing. Much preferred Dave E. on bass though, he had a more pronounced tone. It's really great to see a classic band like this put out something of this quality at this stage in the game. I think Andy Sneap had a big part in the jump in quality....all I need now is for Sneap to put out a new Sabbat album

Yeah, this is a really good album. Much better than UA and probably the best Megadeth album I've heard so far.

But yeah, Slayer has put out good stuff, but then Slayer is just not for everyone either.

Just listen to RiP and Peace Sells, dude.

I've listened to RiP, and actually own it. I think this is a lot better. I always liked RiP but I do think it has more filler tracks and Daves voice is really annoying on a lot of the songs. I think this is a more solid effort and has much better guitarwork.

Haven't listend to Peace Sells yet, need to check it out.

Marty Friedman is so much much better than Chris Broderick.

I don't understand why people say otherwise.
