Wasting Light will always be my favorite Foo Fighters and favorite Dave related album in general.

was never too big on wasting light myself, think it's only a 3 actually. all his work in nirvana and the foos' first two albums are way better imo, but i guess i understand the appeal of it.

It's Alexk, you shouldn't take his opinion very seriously, casual af and therefore wrong(obviously, no sarcasm there)

This is the problem.

Dave at Reading '92 is not the same Dave in Foo Fighters. He morphed into a gurning goody goody at some point between Kurt blowing his brain out and Monkey Wrench.

Debut era foos live is pretty good though zak, almost draws the raw and unpolished sound from in utero, unlike their later output.

comparing grunge drummers is like comparing different 80s Corolla's though, even the best is still a 80s Corolla.

Yeah soft foos is so weak, 2002-2010 was such a boring period for them.

Yea debut and shape are all that matters really, one by one would be too if not for the excess of filler.

Yeah I'm with ya Dan but the magic was lost. The spark, the electricity, the excitement had died.

I saw 'em live in '97 and they were great but it was all a bit hum drum.

to be honest Dave's comedic antics were just as entertaining as their music when I saw them about 6 years back, the guy is a born performer but their music is pretty forgettable for the most part.

No love for Killing Joke's second self-titled? Has some of my all-time favorite Grohl drumming performances on it

Remember that thrill of excitement when you caught squirttle or whatever the fuck it is? Multiply that by a trillion and your halfway to knowing how amazing Nirvana were to millions.
