Yeah, they’re fine but they’re not the band I fell in love with. To me the band died when Chris left.

I don't know really anything about their history so I'll take your word for it lol.

Make sure to check Fates Warning as well, they're even better.

I do like both, but let's be real, there was a long time where Queensryche were either really mediocre or just downright terrible. Fates Warning at least stayed good even after their golden age imo.

Oh for sure but imo Mindcrime clears all of their records and I just think that Geoff is a better vocalist

You can buy a lot of good will when you’ve made a top 5 metal record oat

Alder-era Fates was always better than Queensryche. The John Arch albums weren’t amazing though.

I want to call this Queensryche’s best but I Wanna Get Close to You is just so, so awful.

"The John Arch albums weren’t amazing though."

Nah, Spectre Within and Awaken the Guardian definitely are. Probably my favorite Fates Warning albums, actually.

The whole Tate situation dropped literally before I listened to these guys and it stopped me for over a decade lol. Now that I'm going through their discog this early part has been such a pleasant surprise. I'm so excited for Mindcrime next.

Right Side of My Mind rules tho and is still a song that I’ll play to this day. I do not remember if any of the other shitty later Tate era records have any good tracks and I’m not sure I’m willing to find out

Have only heard 2 of this band's albums and they're already my fav prog metal band ever lmao. Not counting any prog death like Opeth, etc.

The newer albums with the new vocalist are pretty good, but agreed, don't go past Promised Land in the Tate era
