'fuck spotify. build a collection with personality and actually support musicians. Gonzo's got it.'
Here's a radical idea... why not do/use both? Revolutionary I know.

Agreed Morningrise...wait and see Trif...its not my fault.
I have a question for Adolf. The app I use for music have the option to listen in HQ. You mean that quality is still poor?
And again don t forget to be thankfull cause tks to stream you can listen to more than 20 new stuff per day. Stream changed my musical taste and made it easier to chalenge myself. I d agree with Demon, don t need to get all radical about it.

Same, love CDs. I like how they're relative unpopular though, it keeps the prices dirt cheap. Often you pay the same (sometimes less) for a CD than you would for a digital copy, which is completely bananas when you think about it.

Yeah, very true. It's my medium of choice by a long mile.
I don't like the digital format at all, physical copies is where it's at.

Yeah, I mean collecting vinyl sounds cool and everything but slightly less convenient, plus waaaaaay more costly. Not necessarily knocking it though, in an ideal world I'd use all 3 formats to my advantage, just save the really awesome stuff for vinyl.

Yeah but for that you have to have a CD player. Cars don t even come with one anymore. Plus cd s are pretty easy to break or loose quality, at least on my hands loll vinyl is cooler but inconvenient and also pretty hard to preserve quality in 20-30 years. I listen to music from the clouds..isn t that a beauty? X)

I've got all my cd's on a huge MP3 player, aux cable for in the car, easy! "I'd use all 3 formats to my advantage, just save the really awesome stuff for vinyl." My strategy.

Its a cool collectionist strategy.
Plus I don t think buying a copy is the only way to help a band (only the big ones cause they sell millions), in fact hyping it with views, likes, all that shit and listen on their official and unofficial stream outputs is way more effective to make a band more known and thus more ppl attend to their shows. That s why genres like pop and hip-hop are wining by the numbers unfortunately.
What I mean is that CD s and vinyl are a cool geek thing nowdays.

Yeah true, but bands earn next to nothing from streaming services. Which sucks big time.

"Often you pay the same (sometimes less) for a CD than you would for a digital copy"
this. I go to poundland a lot of the time, they have some absolute banging albums in there for a £1 where you'd pay £8 for it on iTunes.

"Yeah true, but bands earn next to nothing from streaming services. Which sucks big time." If bands are not on bandcamp, YouTube, Deezer/Spotify, SoundCloud etc... noone will listen to them or go to their shows...unless they have a label to set them the shows with other more well known artists.
Its great to have imediate access to music in HQ. Have one of those family packs on spotify/ deezer where you can have up to 5 accounts. Less than 2€ a month to "all music" on and off line...if noone knows you get a fuckin free bandcamp page. Make a name for yourself on the road. Its the only way. Noone will make a name no more by selling cd s.

"to this day, I still don't understand why people pay for digital. it's physical or nothing for me."
For some highly limited albums that's the only way. I won't pay for a shitty bootleg.
"If bands are not on bandcamp, YouTube, Deezer/Spotify, SoundCloud etc... noone will listen to them or go to their shows...unless they have a label to set them the shows with other more well known artists."
Sad, but true. I think Bandcamp and YouTube are cool, the rest sucks.
