mirrors and controller have better vocals, songs, flow better, the riffs and melodies are presented in a more interesting way, and the compositions are far more interesting. they improved as songwriters every way with the other two. this album is still cool obvi but the vox suck so bad

Fuck Mirrors and Controller. One of the things that put this above those is the emotion. The vocalist might not be the best but I'll be damned if i can't feel the anger and sadness in his scream. Not to mention the lyrics.

people talk this up as their best because of it's influence and the fact that its all raw and hardcore and shit, i mean come on "Murder" is stale, flat, and the riffs don't work with eachother. they improved so hard after this and dropping the vocalist

lol the emotion? his voice is stale and annoying and the way its produced on here fucking sucks, i mean obvi the album is still cool man but i go for songwriting and melodies and of course fluidity, something that this doesn't have. J's Lullaby is also better than this album

dude i fucking love misery signals but i dont get the whole emotional thing. Karl's lyrics on both albums are just fine, yeah jesse's lyrics were more personal but his vox were terrible, mixed terribly, and songs like "Murder" and "On Account" just fall flat for me. Mirrors and controller have much more diversity and color to every instrument, the guitars on mirrors are fucking brilliant.

I do like Karl as a vocalist better. But as a guitarist, this album is mint to me.
