Agreed. The Unforgiven is good. As for The Unforgiven III...well its missing something. It's hard to explain.

It's not a bad song. It probably wouldn't get so much flack if they could stop naming their ballads 'Unforgiven'.

Because the first 2 were so manly....
But seriously, I think III is just too pretentious and over the top with the strings.

The first one wasn't really pretentious at all. I can't remember if it had strings or not, but I don't think so... I don't remember the second one at all.

My comment mainly had to do with the fact that James just sounds like he's not singing with any conviction anymore.

It just sounded epic without being pretentious. A really good song.
The second was so-so. Too much of the same only without the feeling though.

Dreams:
Really? I can hear some feeling there but perhaps its age that affected his abillity yo make it heard.

It's just different now, not gone. Listen to a lot of bands that have been around for a long time... the emotion is still there but it's not the same as when they were young.

True. But musically the song just lacks something. Its hard to explain...

Was that easy for you to explain? Then that wasn't the answer he was looking for.

Kirk is still as talented as ever. Lars is more or less the same. James as well and Robert...well it would be good if I could hear him from time to time.

Get some Infectious Grooves and Suicidal Tendancies and be amazed.

Trey, you mentioned a lot of 'older artists' and not sounding the same because of age, how about Chuck Billy?

Will do.
Although I spose he could be attributed to DM's grooves that can be heard.

I've never really heard much "emotion" in any of his vocals - young or old. He definitely sings with conviction and you can tell that he loves what he's doing but I don't hear any emotional connection, if that makes any sense.

I would definitely attribute that to him. I'd reccomend:

Infectious Grooves - The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move

Suicidal Tendencies - Lights...Camera...Revolution
