I don't dislike it, Choccy. I just think a lot of their non-bm/folk stuff is much better.

Bergatt is real good but I prefer like 6 Ulver albums to it.

This, Marriage, Shadows, WotR, Messe and Blood are all better than Bergtatt, imo of course.

That's quite something, I honestly don't know. I really like Bergtatt myself. Not a fan of the other black metal record though.

Bergtatt is great, for sure.

If anything, my ranking is a testament to how amazing Ulver are.

Knowing how much you hate Agalloch, I guess I should've figured that much.

Got nothing to do with Agalloch lol, like I said I still think Bergtatt is a great album.

Jamming Messe now, let's see how that is. Great so far.

@Pleb Ah alright I missed that comment. I like Bergtatt for a lot of the same reasons I like Agalloch tbh.

Isn't Agalloch influenced by them? That would explain something.

I might jam Bergtatt and then The Mantle right after it, should show something.

Well my guess is that Agalloch are just influenced by Ulver in general. Honestly The Mantle and Bergtatt sound barely anything alike.

I agree, but it somehow reminds me a bit of Ulver at times if I recall it correctly ( it's been a while since I listened to The Mantle ).

Oh well, I will just try it, both are fantastic albums, so I really don't mind.

I can hear tons of Bergtatt-like sounds in Pale Folklore, but even then, they're not extremely prominent and might not be there in the first place. It's just subjection.

It's what it's sold as. I don't think it's trip hop at all but that's what I've heard pretty much every review for this say

I believe I have also read this as such and quite frankly, it's so much more than that.

Yeah exactly. It does have some trip hop elements but it's hardly full out trip hop or even mostly trip hop
