Come on now, a 1? That's not possible.

At the very least, this album deserves a 2.5 for average.

Lamb of God have written enough decent songs to maybe have one EP out of the countless albums they have released. Machine Head on the other hand have made about two or three good albums worth of material.

This album slays, regardless of what the staff says.

i completely agree, countless riffs bore me too.

however, i think making critics should be more based on knowing the band, the roots, to criticize the record in different aspects.

"I'm not sure if Machine Head can do better than this, as I have not really listened to any Machine Head in the past"

I just think 'Wolves' should either have been shortened or left out entirely. It didn't need to be nine minutes long.

The Blackening is one of the best modern metal works, some songs should be shortened but that's it. This is the only problem, a lot of the songs contained in this EP are intense, catchy and have an extremely solid instrumentation

Loads going on in this album. Riff and tempo changes. Growling and a few clean vocals. Personally I think it's an excellent album and come back to it regularly.
