it honestly is I prefer Bends cuz it reminds me of my dad and he loves it too but IR is arguably a better album musically

They're arguably just very different musically

I like the bends just a little bit more even though yeah you are probably right the music is slightly more basic, but thom's singing is incredible throughout, and the whole album makes me hella emotional I can't even really describe it. The bends definitely feels like their most human album. Also I'd definitely take fade out over videotape any day, vocals bore me a bit in videotape.
I agree with what Boney says 100%, he hits the nail on the head
Nude and all I Need are my favs on here, the bass on all I need is soooo good

back before in rainbows came out there wasn't any debate on the bends' greatness, I guess it's a sign of the times that if you're not making wacky computer noises throughout a record it won't hold people's attention or something? there are a coupla duds on there imo but overall it's a great album. and bulletproof is like a top 5 RH song for me

'back before in rainbows came out there wasn't any debate on the bends' greatness'
Before In Rainbows came out I was only into their 'hits' for the most part, so I guess they've got that going for them.
