I always thought Kanye's genius was primarily melodic, more about "songwriting" than most people gave him credit for even on the sample-heavy College Dropout, so this initially disappointed me and even today I'd place it maybe uhhh 4th? 5th? But it's very good and such a crazy career 180. like crazy

honestly would have put it 3rd or 4th a few years ago too. over the years i have definitely fallen very far from listening to Kanye regularly or even at all for the most part, but when someone plays Bound 2 at work it allll comes back to me. fantasy is still probably number 1 tho
his appeal to me was always melodic too. everything i just said considered, i still get the instrumental and hook from We Major stuck in my head

Gonna need an explanation on that. The moment when the guitar feedback solo drops in is pure euphoria. The verses seem a little messy until you realize both him Chief Keef are emulating the sound and feel of being TurNT.
