i think chino meant him and stephen are sort of in a similar competitive thing or something, he said in an interview from like last year or so that he was going to go to stephens to record some riffs he's working on (paraphrase)



I'm stoked theyre having Terry Date produce it. I hated the production of their more modern albums (the ones from the 10's). there's something that Terry Date does to their sound that makes it sound really perfect. Especially how they record chino's vocals. or mix them, i guess.

Really? I like the production on KNY and DE. Especially atmospheric stuff like Tempest or booming songs like Risk

Their music has always been brickwalled, so Date wasn't exactly better in terms of that. As long as it is any of the pre-Gore producers, i'm fine with it

It’s still the worst song on the album, and really the only instance I can think of atm where a clean version of a song is so much better than the regular version.

Like I’m not some kind of prude and I get what they were going for but it’s just too fucking ridiculous.

They’re decent, but severely overshadowed by all the tracks surrounding them imo. I guess Lucky You is a bit better than Pink Cellphone though. Remember it being on The Matrix Reloaded soundtrack lol.

Second best Deftones album behind White Pony. I sometimes want to put it ahead of White Pony but 1) White Pony is way too good and 2) this album has "Pink Cellphone" and "Mein".
