"Finally I'm not the only one that has One at the bottom. Well, except for to live is to die. That one sucks. Mainly because it drags and lars gets too fill happy. Fill happy lars is not good"

Oh man, Budgie's not gonna be happy

One is one of the greatest heavy metal songs ever written - not even a discussion!

I can accept the fact that some people are tired of it. But when they play it live, and those bombs are going off for a couple of minutes as the song starts is pretty awesome in the live setting.

It's probably mostly that I've heard it way too much yeah... but I also hate how the intro is really just them ripping off fade to black with some small changes

But I also just think one is overrated compared to the rest of this album. Blackened and frayed absolutely dump all over one without question

love kirk's solos on this album there's like 'metal van halen' sorta vibe to quite a few of them, especially shortest straw

Shortest Straw is one of Kirk's funkiest solos yeah, back when he was still progressing and writing quality stuff which was soon to change as we know now yeah so pretty much his pinnacle before he started heading downwards, a twilight of the gods moment so to speak huehuehue

It's definitely one of his weirdest solos for sure. The fact that he decided to do a B-flat blues solo over standard E riffs is... certainly a choice, lol

Hm, no sure about that B-flat thing as most of the notes seem to be part of the natural minor scale in E imo. But nvm, these were the days when he still consciously planned and wrote interesting solos instead of improvising stale note salads by the numbers.
