I'd ask people to justify a 5 just as much as I'd ask the to justify a low score. The album isn't a classic, and it's not shit either. It's just a solid album. Any 5's come from extreme fandom IMO.

I’d like to think that any opinion on art is equally defensible/“worth” justification etc. But in my heart of hearts I think my dewy eyed outlook on art means that I do think a 1/5 needs a bit more juice to back it up than someone lovin on their favies

Sorry I’m not, DE at least had some interesting rhythms and plays with odd timing a lot more. This one has like, a single instance of them changing time signatures in a song?
If you like it more that’s fine but overall this is easily the least complex thing they’ve done in awhile and Deftones isn’t exactly a complex band

@FadedSun you couldn't be more right imo. Cult worship and like that's fine but some ppl don't wanna admit it. I score this higher because I love the band. Easily. That said, a lot of the people dolling out 5s to this give out 5s much more frequently than you or me.

I wasn't a fan of Deftones and I 5'd this.
Actually I used to dislike Deftones but for no real reason. I just generaly disliked bands from that era (Limp bizkit, Korn, Deftones, Linkin Park, Godsmack, etc).
I always knew they were different from those bands but just didn't bother checking them out.
So yeah 5'ing this isn't just a fan thing.
