cliff was into metal even less than the other guys when he passed. he was more into pop and country and talked about that at the time. i bet they still go in a pretty similar direction, especially load and reload. they definitely wouldn't stay thrash for longer than this timeline which i think is a misconception.

Album sounds great to me. Master of Puppets used to be my #1 Metallica album but as I've gotten older it's turned into this lil fella. Both are classics though and sound good in my book.
