my beautifully poetic and heart-warming dissection of The Moor's intro has now been lost forever

Sorry I keep breaking those pages whose sinews gave it motion!!!

Luckily they also have to click back a page to understand the joke, they might as well read your post while they're there.

click back a page? What is that? Nothing beyond the current page exists

I think that's very mindful and cosy of you.

Makes these moments all the more worthwhile, since they'll only last for 20 posts and are then lost for ever in the grey dark of the Sputnik Previous Page Sphere (SPPS for short). Leading a Still Life for sure.

they were cooking on this album

also I don't know why, but for whatever reason I always had the hardest time playing the songs on this album on guitar. I guess I just suck

this does have some of their most technical writing for sure.

easily their most technical album from a guitar standpoint. akerfeldt has said as much. maybe that’s why they rarely dip into this one live.

I remember one summer night being like "fuck it, let's learn Benighted" then wanting to kill myself 2 hours later desperately

I adapted Benighted to piano, and that was a lot of fun to play. But yeah, I imagine it's hard as hell on guitar. Those acoustic bits are so intricate and constantly moving around

if you're not comfortable with a lot of finger picking, yeah, you're going to want to die. Which I did.

It was disappointing and depressing but also very funny. I learned a bunch of other Opeth songs which made up for my utter failure at learning this
