Agreed. Haxprocess and Folklore are my two favorites, I Feel the Dark, Nepenthe, and Marrow also. Slither is my least favorite but that last minute of acoustic guitar is really nice.

Idk, I like the free flowing nature of the album but I can deffo see why some would view most tracks as wandering improvised ideas.

it hits the spot for certain occasions but those are few and far between. they just lacked any real songwriting experience and didn’t really know how to develop an idea to its fullest potential.
i would say the same about this due to the drastic change in sound. I really think akerfeldt & co were really excited about the new direction but they really didn’t know what to do without being able to revert to the dm whenever they hit a roadblock.
