I agree that Waste is a bit plain. Good song, but it’s the most unoriginal arrangement and four chord song. Good song, but anyone could’ve written it.

A lot of Brand New's music is simple and not particularly out of the ordinary if you really break it down, as with many bands, but they're one of those groups that know how to sound unique and emotionally engaging nonetheless. I love progressive rock & metal, but I'll take those qualities over exaggerated displays of technical wankery most of the time. Even if Waste isn't in my top 5 favorites on here, I still think it's a great song. No Control however, that's one that crosses the line with simplicity haha

My favs here are In the Water, Waste and Can’t Get It Out. Same Logic and 137 right behind though.

"Lit Me Up is the best song from this album
Took a while to wrest that title away from In The Water but it just has the best atmosphere"
It's funny because Lit Me Up was always my second favorite after Batter Up but now In the Water is threatening that

I just can't stand it, sounds like an awful butt rock/radio grunge song to me

like there's having an opinion and then there's hearing a completely different song than the one I just listened to
|

Idk I haven't listened to it in forever, I'll check it in a little bit and see if I feel differently

also what kind of buttrock uses an organ? and that lead on the chorus is like the opposite of butt rock and grunge. the song has an ethereal vibe to me, i cant comprehend how butt rock would come to mind for anyone.

Fair point, maybe I just hate it and that clouds my judgement

1) In The Water is the heart of this album.
2) It is among the top five songs Jesse has ever penned.
3) It has precisely zero things similar with buttrock.

I wonder what Ron Paul thinks about the wall.
But more importantly, what does Paul Wall think about the wall? That's what truly keeps me up at night.

Ron Paul believes the Wall is foolish but was ecstatic when Trump threatened to keep the government closed for years.
He has penned several unreturned letters to Trump stating that requiring drivers to have driver's licenses is a national travesty, a gross violation of human rights, and must be addressed immediately.
The letters are unreturned, for the most part, because Trump can't read.
