Blackened intro should have been times longer or devided into a separate song

For me, both bands have 5 really great albums. I'd probably go with Slayer if is I was forced to pick. Tough call though.

MegaDave is my pick, but Metallica and Slayer were generally better in their prime

Anthrax slays though. I have no idea how I'd rank the big 4 though tbh. I like them all for different reasons and each kinda has their own vibe going

Nice. Yeah metallica all the way it's hard not to give them the top spot look at what they've accomplished. Along with maiden and sabbath their usually called the best band in metal history. Also priest.... Slayer is great and while I'm not huge on megadave their a great band overall to. Metallica are deff in a completely different league tho then the rest of the big 4

Metallica are without a doubt the biggest metal band in history. This day and age, metal and rock are second fiddle as far as charts are concerned. With that, these guys are selling out stadiums. Not arenas, stadiums, and for consecutive nights in the same place in some cases! You can say Guns n Roses do it too, but they’re not a metal band.
Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, or whoever couldn’t do it without the help of a supporting cast.
Props to Metallica. Major props to James since he is the rotary engine that drives the machine. Dude must be 60 and can still kick your ass.

Metallica is best in their prime but Rust in Peace is probably the goat thrash album

Rust, Justice, Persistence of Time, and Seasons are my top 4 thrash albums of all time (picking one from each band). Testament are way more consistent, and I like them more than Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax but they've never released a classic.

I guess mine would be
Metallica
Slayer
Anthrax
Megadeth
Almost tempted to put Anthrax at 2 but Slayer have a more consistent discography but the Anthrax albums that hit for me hit hard. Megadeth probably doesn't deserve the bottom spot but on a decent portion of their discography Dave's vocals detract for me big time. They have some classics though regardless

I have a problem with a lot of Megadeth albums. He lost his way for awhile, and even now where he has found his way musically, his vocals (especially the choruses) are so bad a lot of the time.

I agree to an extent. They've never been great or possibly even good but on most of the early stuff it's at least passable. There's some albums though that even with pretty solid instrumentals I just outright avoid because how he is on the microphone
