For some reason my Alt Rock percentage went way down and my Experimental went up and I thought maybe it changed because somebody got rid of it on Radiohead's tags but nope

For me it's quite inaccurate though because most of the artists that I listen to who are tagged as experimental aren't really experimental.

Yeah honestly Radiohead isn't really experimental enough to warrant the tag probably

Bowie deff is though, especially on the Berlin trilogy

Radiohead do fit a certain definition of experimentalism in music, in my opinion, that which considers experimental music ais a genre-less tag encompassing music that is opposed - or that challenges - generally established aesthetic, technical or form-related standards.

Of course, it's not experimentation that is as challenging or form-bending as, say, many modernist composers, but working in relatively narrow field of popular music, I think they do a pretty solid job.

I really don't think anything Radiohead have done is truly experimental except for maybe The King of Limbs

lol somewhere along the music listening continuum you start rejecting everything as "experimental" unless it's actually musique concrete

The 'Experimental' tag is used almost as much as the 'Alternative Rock' tag it seems.

It kinda is but I like having experimental being the biggest slice on my pie chart
