I don't agree. They don't have to go full hard bop or whatever, they could easily incorporate more jazz elements which would be very cool. That's what I meant. Plus Axe used to play in a jazz band I think.

Totally. They flirted with this idea on Heritage, scrapped it on Pale Communion and Sorceress, time to bring it back and go further with it. That could be a very interesting new direction for them.

Agreed Trifo, a jazz-fusion style direction would be most welcome. The two after this just feel like bland prog-rock to me, but this has loads of personality... & as others have said the quality production here helps matters.

Haha! I remember that. Been spying on all of you since '08, so I vividly remember disliking this. I agreed back then, but have warmed up to this a lot over the years obviously.
