still holds up

maybe that was the aim. I can imagine thom yorke being like, cohesiveness wouldn't reflect the anthological nature of the work, as he files it like a dictionary
|
| |
i just want post punk radiohead

"it strikes me as disingenuine when you see the tracklist in alphabetical order and hear the damn thing..."
THIS >:-(
Nighty night!

Could be. I'd love to hear them try to rationalize it tbh.

Y'all have been on the money. Burn the Witch straight into Daydreaming is jarring. So is starting off the album with the one lively, bombastic song on an album full of slow-burners. I also never listen to AMSP as one piece. I can definitely sit through HTTF front2back easier than AMSP
& The Numbers is fantastic! Thom's presence & lyricism there are angelic, almost omniscient

I feel like the awkward lumping of the last 4 tracks actually had a permanent diminishing effect on my potential enjoyment of them on their own individual merit
|
| |
decks dark, identikit
|
| |
i don't listen to the last 4 tracks much
|
| |
Those two and ful stop are such strong tracks
|
| |
Identikit in particular grew on me as much as that I'd probably put it in the upper half of my top 50 Radiohead songs
|
| |
nearly included ful stop,
burn the witch bangs too. and the timbre of the music is perfect across the album
|
| |
Now that one I just flat out hate, but it's the only track that I straight up dislike on the album
|
| |
it's kinda whacky, tense, yorke's vocals on point, i dig it
|
| |
Speaking of "new" radiohead, that Ill Wind track is a pretty lovely albeit safe jam. In rainbows vibes.
|
| |
i forget Man of War isn't on AMSP
that one might top them all, though I wish it were a bit heavier like the original live recordings

the butcher is a great song too
|
| |
First time hearing either version actually
Also butcher is not only the best tkol beside but it's just straight up one of my favorite radiohead songs
|
| |
big boots has that heavy james bond vibe going, even more than their other stuff. i'm a sucker for that

Agreed, they've got so many great b-sides. But I'll Wind and Spectre, even though they're awesome, aren't able to bring relief. They should've left some tracks off and shuffeld the rest around a bit. The only track I would say is in it's right place (... ha) on AMSP is True Love Waits.
