Yeah that's one of my issues with opeth shows. As much talking as he does in between songs they could easily play two more songs if he cut it out. My only other issue is that they always play the same songs over the years

Haven't been to an Opeth show yet, but after hearing Alcest and some other concerts, I think I'm the type of person who enjoys when the band addresses the crowd, and not in a James Hetfield cringey fAmILy way, but like in a humorous and nonchalant conversational style. I think I'd enjoy that. Also, I think the setlist is more or less set in stone for most acts, they might squeeze in an extra encore song, and I highly doubt more talking=less playing, he's just padding the time you spend on concert, which again, after Alcest, I'd be very much into as opposed to get in, start, say hello, kill it, say bye and that's it after 90 minutes

I totally looooove the Åkerfeldt banter, it's one of my fave things about their shows! It's just as much about having a good time as it is about them playing their music live. Just really enjoy being there with them for a short while. Just like you expect, Stormy. I've seen them about ten times by now (OH!), always a good time, never feels forced either. Really feels like spending quality time with them in a way.
Also RE the socks YES nash are you wearing any socks? I mean, having roots instead of feet helps with not needing any as much as you humans do.

I do like his banter but I think he should still cut down on it some. Not saying he should entirely but their tickets ain't cheap anymore. I want music not a full blown comedy show
