no-one really knows the origins of the term 'gooner dm', but legend has it, that some time in the mid 2020s a spellcaster of unknown form (possibly an alchemist or wizard) conjured the idea as a response to Brodequin's cult-classic Harbinger of Woe. Now, nearly 30 years later, it's an established subgenre in its own right but didn't really take off in real terms until the great divide of the 2040s. Pensive State were at the peak of their powers and as trailblazing as this form of thinking man's metal was, people desired a return to the days where you actually digested music aurally.
