I’m liking the new song more as I let it play on a loop. Don’t think it clears anything on this album though.
Bassist is carrying the tune for me.

as people say, the production isn't that great. too much bass from drums

I love the new song, it could have come right off of Pierce the Veil's Collide with the Sky

I can never take these scene bands seriously who usually sing about the dumbest shit imaginable with the maturity of a moody 16 year old then throw in a "let's get serious" track about spousal abuse.

Having over half of the new album out before its release is wild.
I've held out on the majority of singles and only listened to the bookends so far, but just based on those two, I'd be happy if it's as good as Mental Knife. /:

new album was good but idk im tired. really liked Live Forever and Insensitive Tempo back to back (former couldve given us the last chorus but whatevs). felt modern coheed influenced.
minus Blight (awesome song), the heavier moments felt so...ineffective? like they didn't really shake the earth it was moreso just a "hey, we're still HTS and not a pop rock band yeah!!"

something feels so artificial here too. the production kinda adds to that vibe and ughhhh i had so much hope after Divine Inner Tension but I think this is easily their worst. and it was a great listen, dont get me wrong. these guys are a great band and always will be. but it felt like a product.

Definitely dug the new album but agree they need to shake things up with the next one, whenever that may be.
Highlights are fantastic, Insensitive Tempo into Blight is a massive one two punch

Insensitive Tempo is the easy highlight atm, feels like another 60 Minute Session Blocks which i'm not complaining about

Pretty pleasant first listen actually.
Album sounds ok but nowhere close to this one for now, Insensitive Tempo is obviously a big highlight and the theme is big W.

New album is better than I thought it would be but yeah it doesn't touch this.

my 2nd listen was better, i think once i get over that it's not a major step in a more interesting direction, i'll be happier with it.
Rightless Destiny is also a big highlight

I think there’s just the right amount of variation to keep it interesting from beginning to end, but it for sure doesn’t reach the highs this one had.

Rightless Destiny rules yeah, that was the big stand out of my first pass.

i really don't like how streamlined their heavier moments have gotten in general. feels like it's always just in the bridge. which, granted, some of my faves on here do just that (Maladapted, The Story Writes Itself, Tunnel Vision) but here it felt like a good way to maintain that balance between the poppier stuff. now it just feels like they are following a formula too strictly.

the biggest sin on the new album is the mixing and the weak ass guitar tone on most songs

Not loving the feedback I am hearing so far on the new one. Need to go into it with an open mind though, I am sure it is good.
