That one also rules. The band in general just rules... I'm sad it took me so long to get around to hearing them

I only really listen to the Peter Green-era but this is a great pop rock album there's no denying that, I'd just rather listen to the 'real' Fleetwood Mac ;)

Both are certainly better than that weird middle era. It's funny, most people I talk to don't even know about albums like Kiln House or Bare Trees

i enjoy both eras. The Peter Green era kicks ass, but I'll always have a soft spot for this lineup cause i heard it first

Cool man, productive!

Would you be ashamed if I said I've NEVER jammed Fleetwood?

I just really love the combination of styles on this album. You get elements of the original Peter Green work mixed with folk, pop, and rock into a polished mixture. There are even some prog hints in songs like The Chain and Oh Daddy

Seeing as that means you haven't heard arguably the greatest guitarist who ever lived (obviously I don't mean Lindsay Buckingham!), yes I am very ashamed. I couldn't care less if you've heard this album or not though.

Where should I start, JT? :]

Start with either Then Play On or this Greatest Hits: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/soundoff.php?albumid=52539#a (this one is also acceptable: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/8908/Fleetwood-Mac-The-Best-of-Peter-Greens-Fleetwood-Mac/ ).

The reason I recommend a best of/greatest hits is because a lot of Green's best songs were only released a singles and not on studio albums. Then Play On is a perfectly good starting point if you want to start with a proper album though.

JT speaks the truth. I hadn't heard peter green's fleetwood mac until he reviewed it i think, but it rules. still need to hear more of peter green's solo stuff

@Atari: His first two solo albums are the only ones worth checking to be honest. If you want more Peter Green you're better off checking the album he did with John Mayall called A Hard Road and the other recordings he did with Mayall and the Bluesbreakers which are on the John Mayall compilation album Thru the Years.
