the tour is moving away from my area so there's definitely less talk about it, but also finally seeing less of Taylor's face and hearing less of her music everywhere. I'm sure that will return tho since she's proven to be the most marketable person on the planet

It's amazing how much this grew on me since it was released. It's still not close to her best, but definitely not the trainwreck I initially thought.

Train is too obsessed with its one travel log to get out of the damn station

biggest trainwreck of her career will always be folklore

biggest trainwreck would need to be a full kanye because at this point she could fart, turn it platinum and laugh all the way to the bank
|

“biggest trainwreck of her career will always be folklore“
reputation? The Taylor’s version bullshit? Her entire early career?

Folklore is one of her best, wtf

“It’s amazing how much this grew on me since it was released”
probably the least amazing thing to ever happen

crazy how many people i know that love reputation
|
| |
Reputation Stockholm syndrome is really something. That and all the lead singles from Lover (but not the other tracks because they rule) are by far the lowest point in her career.
|
| |
Folklore is pretty, but it really highlights Taylor's limitations as a singer. She fits the bill for milquetoast plain indie pop vocal performance pretty snugly on there.
|
| |
I probably enjoy Folklore/Evermore the most out of any of her albums tbh
|
| |
Folklore is dull
and the vocal performance is more understated than her pop records
which is in keeping with the songwriting and aesthetic
which are dull
and has tbh v little to do with her limitations as a singer
vocal chops are really not the best case to level against her at any stage
just say it is dull like the rest of us
and move on

Folklore gives 1989 and Speak Now a run for their money, but I think Folklore has a few boring tracks that hold it back. I'd put it on par with Fearless, hovering around 3rd/4th best tier.

| |
I remember Speak Now being my falling off point for her way back when I was young, just felt kinda boring compared to the first couple albums.
