The fact everyone has a different favorite Counterparts album reflects how strong their disco is. Difference Between Hell and Home was always mine, but I think this is better

i dont rlly mind that a choke/your own knife types of track didnt make it on here. those songs rip but none of em are my favs on their respective albums and i dont rlly think one of em woulda flown well in this context
think my ranking rn is this > nltl > prophets > hell and home >= ynya > tragedy > current. top 5 are all 4.5s

Great album, metalcore chugs are actually really good despite what people tend to say these days

Why are people losing their minds about this? It's just a shit version of what Haste The Day was doing over a decade ago.

'weren't you doing exactly that over ETID this time last yr'
That album isn't without fault (and quite different to this), but the creativity levels aren't in the same universe from where I'm sitting - seems like a weird thing to bring up, but okay you do what you do, I guess. The sheer variety on offer easily sets that album apart.
ETID have carved out their own little niche in the core-world
feels like I've definitely been baited here, but there ya go - have these words and use them for your own ends

Radical was better and more varied than this, agreed.
This album starts very strong but progressively loses its thing. Still an excellent effort to these ears

not really Johnny, you just said it was more diverse and had higher highs - so regardless of whether (you thought) it was consistent or not, that's something even you are willing to acknowledge
This is just a wall-to-wall snooze-fest with zero recognisable personality to separate it from the horde
Either way, I don't see the comparison - just playing your game here

Not bad, I’d rather go back and listen to Shai Hulud ‘reach beyond the Sun’ though (which I did yesterday).

Holy shit this is good. What a year.

Shai Hulud is the only valid alternative I've seen in this thread
I am a HUGE ETID fan but omg Radical feels like it's 3 hours long lol

'babe *you* just played the game of bashing sput for overrating core albums on release'
Nope, I bashed Sput for liking genericore, i.e. core that's been done and brings nothing new to the table. Opinions may vary of course, but ETID were creative till the end - in fact some of the latter-day material was perhaps the most creative they've ever been
Everyone overrates / underrates shit, that's why subjectivity is a thing. All in the eye of the beholder innit
Again, I'm not actually comparing this band to ETID because they don't sound alike (you are though, for arbitrary reasons may I add)

First spin down and I think Mirrors was my favorite outside of the singles. Little disappointed with Soil II...
