Demon, when I go to Spotify/MarsVolta and hit the discography tab, it lists all their albums and then singles. Does your version not do this?

It lists singles, the track just isn't there. I can find it as part of 'The Widow' as an additional track, but the track itself is 'greyed out' and not playable. Weird.
Presuming it's a regional thing.

I thought the thread was revived because of Cedric's battle against scientology.

I knew that he made a terrible mistake by entering in the first place. But oh well...sometimes you have to learn the hard way.

I bumped one of their other albums a few weeks ago because of that. I feel so bad for him and his family.

Listened for the first time yesterday and i gotta say De-Loused was almost easily listening compared to the long tracks on here. Though atm i'm not super keen on it, it may come into 4 territory after quite a few listens

This is much more fun than Deloused imo

Really? Don't see that at all right now.
De-Loused is so catchy mostly and more straightforward with the post hardcore elements from ATDI much more present. And Cedric has some really memorable vocal melodies, and it's a very strong 4.5 to me

I'm in the minority here, but I guess I've always seen TMV as a fun wanky band and ATD-I as a focused adrenalised band; De-Loused felt like a pretty unconvincing middle ground aside from Eriatarka and the last two. This and Amputechture make the most of all the silly indulgent qualities that made this band fun to begin with imo

Fair enough
But a little less wankery would have done them a favor in this case.
Songs like Goliath are also wankery but at least have some sort of structure (not quite unlike 21st Century Schizoid Man though hehe)

De-Loused is a very very very good proper album. With actual songs and shit...

It took me a long time to realise this was more fun than Deloused, so yeah I think I agree now. It’s the length and odd moment of unnecessary experimentation causing the illusion that this is a chin-striking overblown slog in comparison. Having said that I can’t remember my last spin of this.
Deloused has definitely been downgraded and Amputechture upgraded (within the last year or so).

The only tracks on Deloused I'd consider conventional/actual/whatever songs are the 3 I mentioned (great stuff), Inertiatic ESP (ehhhh okay) and This Apparatus Must Be Unearthed (eww). This band tends to ground their jams in sufficently repetitious and memorable riffs that the loose structures on this one never bogged me down too much. Might clear up their discog sometime soon...

Yeah this is way more cohesive than Deloused, don’t know why that had me fooled for so long. A few minutes of unnecessary whale noises can’t alter the overall experience to that extent.

Now I prefer Amputechture to Deloused, never thought I’d see the day.
