Jeeez fuckin Christ though, may as well just release the entire album at this point tho.

I know I just need to get with the times, but I hate this new way of rolling out albums in the streaming age. I listened to I think the first 2 singles, but that’s about my limit as far as this stuff goes. I’m gonna wait to hear the rest.

I'm with you on that. Releasing half the album before it's out is grade A bullshit, but it must somehow be good for marketing or everyone wouldn't be doing it.

Yeah I'm tuning out of any new singles until the album drops.

Ok Nightshift Superstar has grown a little. I'm definitely at a point where I can put these 5 songs into an order I enjoy and it feels like it's shaping up to be their best album in decades.

Releasing lots of tracks before an album drops helps with playlists. You also get to do some posts on social media, which might be good for the algorithm idk.

I don't like the attention economy and what it does to us

It's easy enough to ignore them though isn't it?

I think I've only heard one so far and I had to click on it

The more you like an artist the harder it is

I think most of us could ignore Muse if we really wanted to but imagine your favorite band announces an album then drops 1 single a month for 5 months. Sticking to principles for that long is possible too but definitely a challenge if you're constantly wondering what the new music by your favorite band sounds like

I mean if Nightshift Superstar and Be With You are the "worst" songs on the album, then I believe we're getting something pretty good

The only one I can say I honestly dislike is 'Be With You'. 'Nightshift Superstar' is far too much fun to hate on.

"The more you like an artist the harder it is"

I find it absurdly easy tbh. Idk if I have the patience of a saint, or if it's because I mostly consume entire albums. I dislike potentially unbalancing the overall package to come, for the sake of a single. I find it easier to just abstain entirely, than risk getting hooked. I do succumb to temptation maybe once every couple of years (if that) and even then, I'll curiously listen a couple of times to ONE single, then not bother with the rest of the singles until the album drops.

Wholly agreed on the trend of releasing an absurd number of singles in principle, yet I remain unaffected due to being weird and having insane discipline (in this particular regard, not generally lol)

I wish I had single abstinence discipline. Singles always end up taking away from the experience of enjoying a full album on release but I can’t help myself.

There are two constants in our year of the lord 2026.

Muse will disappoint you
Microsoft will fuck up the xbox brand, and anything else it touches.

Nightshift Superstar sounds like it is the brainchild of something like that and Thriller.
