most dm bands cant touch immo's first 5 lol, the fact that this is as good as it is despite being a bit foced/riff salad is insane. They've been doing this 30 years, this should not be good

this is riff salad but their other albums, especially the first few, aren't?
hilarious.

generally there is more purpose/flow to the songwriting on albs like UC and CTAWB, or see a song like I Feel Nothing
if we wanna get technical, as much as I'm happy with this, many songs are a bit generic/blend together probably worse than any other Immo release, but the production & execution of a few songs in particular helps carry it a lot. Easily top 3 post UC releases for me, but also at the same time their most predictable record if that makes sense
i mean its an immo alb we all knew what it would sound like - main point is this is crazy good for a late career DM band

immo and snoop dogg have been in this game three decades now. what a time to be alive

More predictable and more riff salad at the same time?

Completely 100 percent agree. Evey song here sounds pretty much exactly the same yup. Not much flow not alot of dynamics just more straightforward immolation tracks that lack the atmosphere of atonement or failures. This album is pretty much in line with dawn of possession a more straightforward release. Raw heavy get to the point immo. But it just dont hit the same way and lacking in any atmosphere

some of these guitar solos sound [improvised] like they were written by 16 yr old studio virgins though

Incantation, Immolation, Darkthrone, Cannibal Corpse. They all peaked in the '90s, yet 3 decades in they're still churning out stuff that is worth your while. Which cannot be said of every veteran act, unfortunately.

Solos are one of the weakest parts of this one. It's hard to disagree on that. Some border on cringefest, which is maybe not shocking, but definitely disappointing.

Vigna slander is unacceptable.

Cringefest would actually be a great name for one of those sponsored open air festivals.

Damn some of y’all are way pickier than me. I’ve listened to this at least 10 times at this point and not a single time have I thought “that solo was weak”. I also totally love Vigna so it’s unlikely I will ever be disappointed
