did not know Andrew Eldritch was from leeds
in other fun facts he read modern languages at st johns, cambridge
and yh, sisters of mercy are halfway between hilarious and awesome at any given moment, excepting a couple of extremes either way
v overrated leonard cohen song too

I had no clue who the guy was and I live in Leeds.

Should I be feeling shame right now?

Nah man. You can't know everyone. There are a lot of artists from my city that I don't know about, too. Leeds is a big place. You can't be expected to know every musician ever.

As a side, I personally enjoy The Mountain Goats' music. Quite a different band to Big Thief, though. They share similarities but their deliveries are quite separate.

And yes, the reason I knew about Andrew Eldritch at all was because of the Mountain Goats song. I am a fan of that album, so I wanted to know what the song was about. I dont follow 80s UK goth rock scenes haha. A song so heavily referential though peaked my interest, so I googled it when the album dropped.

I knew who Andrew was but I didn't know he lived in Leeds. I lived in Leeds for a year so it must be people who lived in Leeds don't know that. Infallible logic

I might listen to Sisters of Mercy now, try and quell this overwhelming burden of shame I have been cruelly inflicted with

Well, where I live isn't. The centre and some of the (closer) surrounding areas can be a bit shitty sometimes.

Bristol seems cool, never been

It certainly should be an A+ place considering how stupid property prices seem to be down there
