I am admittedly very new to Rolo. I think I prefer the softer moments here than the heavier ones. My favorite songs as of now are "Closer", "The End of Eternity", and "Labyrinthine". I enjoy the extremes the band explore, but I can't help but think Eva's screaming is a little one-dimensional. I've watched live performances and there's a ton of power behind her screams, but not much variation. Anyone else feel the same?

"I can't help but feel like it lacks the cohesion of Time Will Die"

I fully agree with that statement, perfectly describes my feelings with the album

Prescience soft part reminded me of something and it drove me crazy until it clicked: it's almost the same notes as 65daysofstatic's Debutante ending:

Woah, as a fan of both bands I'm almost ashamed I didn't get it. It really did feel familiar. Nice catch.

I imagine it'll absolutely be intentional as well, given they're both from Sheffield. Rolo really wearing their post-rock leanings on their sleeve with that one huh.

65dos even did a remix of Illuminaire so yeah, probably a homage, although it kind of ruin the song for me now lol.

Both bands own agreed

It just seems like the moments of beauty are earned a little more on TWD... Again, this is by no means a bad album, but it seems like a collection of songs more than an album experience.

This album has worse flow and lower high-points than the two before it, but as far as the overall quality of the songs goes I think it is the strongest across the board. Stumbling feels totally pointless to me but that's my only real gripe.

Just way too much dead space in that track for me, no payoff.

All about the journey.

…yeah it doesn’t flow immaculately at times, but Drip onwards IS much much better, from that point onwards it’s pretty seamless. I do understand some of the criticism with the first half though.

Don't know how many will agree with me but I love the keyboard on this album.
