i do see why "and then there was nothing" is the fan favorite but I think it's near the bottom of my rankings here. felt too brief and i'm not a huge fan of them straying so far away from drawn out atmospherics of tracks like Pneumonia or the interludes off stuff like LITSOS tbh. most of these tracks are too short, i miss the post-rocky undercurrent

I only feel like it was decent in a way that it's passable "radio" rock but the choruses really ruined nearly every song and the lyrics are too bad to ignore. Agree with Jay that Loss was a good one. And Then There Was Nothing was cool too. What's really frustrating is you can hear the potential in nearly every song but they ultimately are booty flakes.





Yeah I only rated it a 2.5 so I’m honestly not much more favorable of it than you, my words may not have reflected that though. And Then…is def one of the better tracks, and of course it’s only 2 minutes. I think you’re spot-on about the choruses. Wasn’t able to pinpoint at first, but I actually really liked a lot of the songs first the first minute but, as I went closer to the end, most were just “meh” or “man, that was shit actually” lol.

Not sure why I spun this a second time rather than just going straight to the new Deafheaven, which I’m hearing is fan-fucking-tastic. I shall remedy that now though.

Personally I kindof like Devil, but yeah…shit chorus for sure. Cringey lyrics without a doubt. Cool sound to it though.
