sounds harsher than I meant it tbh, I like her vocals and like post production is done for a reason its music not a sports competition. Plus it works with the music having the spacey breathy aspect. I just meant I'd be interested to hear her live. In terms of calling her a bit uninspired idk, shes got a banger voice I'd just like to hear some catchier hooks in some of the choruses yfm?

Nah this shit bumps

I could see the complaint that it's samey, but it's so damn catchy that I don't really care

It's like pop metalcore kinda

@24gadjet - I think a lot of the criticism stems from the fact they were more ambitious on earlier releases. I don’t have problem with them transitioning into something more mainstream and palatable, but in the process they shed most of what made them a truly unique project in the past. It was a very jarring switch in sound. That being said, this has grown on me and seeing them live definitely helped in my enjoying this record more.

can also confirm this band was fantastic live last month. band was locked in. they had the audience in the palm of their hand - felt like headliner energy in the crowd. I think their hype right now it just off the charts.

Courtney is pretty mesmerizing on stage too. fairly certain that every man & woman there left the show in love with her

saw them like three days ago and they definitely drew a bigger crowd than underoath, tho underoaths crowd was a good bit more active

they were great tho my god i wish hurt you wasnt like a staple of theirs now. even live i was really bored by that song

yeah I definitely wish a better song replaced Hurt You in the setlist

I was hyped AF that they opened with Rule of Nines though

rule of nines was a killer opener yea either that or the t/t off this was the highlight of the set for me. hope they introduce silk in the strings at some point that'd go harder live than anything else

and above all else i hope that when they inevitably headline they'll work in more shit from the eps

‘Obviously doesn't reinvent the wheel but complaining that a poppy core album isnt brimming with creativity feels a bit like complaining that a DnB album isn't creative, not exactly the point for me.‘

yeah DnB can never be creative, gotcha

I don’t think posting the entire thing improves it in any way, not exactly out of context…

and yeah, how else do you interpret that comment?

i didnt read that him speakin so definitively that its "never" creative. more seemed to be about the more general expectations of particular genres and the like

idk why the guy brought DnB into it, seems like they just wanted to pick a genre they didn't think was required to be creative.

I'm not even into DnB, just seemed like a silly statement, lol

but yeah, maybe

Ok wtf is DnB because I’m struggling to find it in the comments.

Also it’s important to find the distinction that not creative does not automatically make their work bad.

demon you mong he meant that, even if it’s not breaking ground, to say that on their own merits they’re not creative or of something else to stand on its own is not fair

got it?
