Ah, I see the hype machine has brought out some more arguments about averages and attitudes towards certain wider genres here.
Jasdevi is guilty of being overly dismissive of metal, just like SOME metal truthers are guilty of skewing the ratings towards metal and being generally dismissive of other genres. This supposed elitist superiority works both ways dude. Also claiming something is overhyped just because you’re not especially into said genre is also really quite stupid.

@Jas: regardless of whether you like ‘em or not, the point still stands. I don’t get this need to call out anything and everything as overhyped whenever the average gets up to a certain level. Comparing it needlessly to other genres etc.

this is the fuckin record i needed given the current world order
title track is incredible and I love the addition of some melody in there, it's kind of what I've wanted since EIF when they had some catchier bits (e.g. main riffs to drown within, soulessness embraced, and that title track)
also is it just me or is paul adding more "range" to his growls with each new record?

Tfw when you create an account just so you can comment on how good this record is.
The record is great. In hindsight it made perfect sense for them to go more melodic after Shrines. And while its more melodic its still as dense and as complex as any other ulcerate record. I'm finding new things every playthrough.
