Goddamn those ambient jazzy bits are a pleasant yet still slightly morose surprise
If ever there were an album entangled in a mixture of rage and despair with only a sliver of light near the end then lord this is it

I never knew what happened other than a vague understanding of it happening but this band fuckin ruled

It isn't quite that simple.
One of the band members was found to be a sex predator which led to the band dissolving (the lead vocalist/founding member himself was a sexual assault victim). There was a really sad instapost about it and iirc they redirected their page to a local service supporting survivors of SA but I can't find it now.

That's a damn shame for the rest of the band, especially the founder given those circumstances. I can understand just wanting to call it quits after that. A more satisfying resolution could have resulted in the "predator" being kicked out (even if it meant the band name had to change to help reconcile the whole ordeal in the remaining member's minds) but that's probably easier said than done.

Maybe he just felt the band name was kinda tainted and just wanted to put an end to the project. Tbh I'd absolutely understand that even if man
I would sure as FUCK love to see new Seizures material

yeah, that's what I was thinking with the changing of the band name, so essentially under the guise of a new project, minus one member. I absolutely sympathise with the idea of not continuing as "Seizures"
I also understand not wanting to do it at all any more, it just seems a shame as this is up there with some of the most creative modern core I've heard
