C'mon Pika, this is actual good sowing core. I'm not the biggest fan of indie/folk pop either but this one is quite a bit different.

If you want actual quality dreampop, check out Dragging a Dead Deer up a Hill by Grouper, Teen Dream + Bloom by Beach House, Heaven or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins and On Fire by Galaxie 500. Assuming you haven't heard those already.

I love Dreampop when I'm in the mood for it, but this one is as watered down as it gets, Daesu.

Also, I just realised which album artwork your avatar is. Took me a while.

Have you heard it? If not, surely get on it, it's fantastic. Waiting on them to release some new material, but their latest ep suggest a change in sound, more generic and watered down.

Also I'm not much of a dream pop aficionado, I did like Bloom though. Might check some of those u listed.

Haven't heard Vice Regalia - if that's the ep you are referring to.

Yeah I’m a big fan of Grouper (almost drone tbh) and Beach House (7 was in my top 5 AOTY) but this has a such huge range and emotional appeal that it blows those two out of the water for me honestly.

Haven’t checked the other two bands tho

Is this really dream pop though? I think it’s way more indie rock/pop with a dreamy atmosphere. I feel like there’s a lot more musical structure and body to this than any dream pop I’ve heard before. And that’s not a sleight against dream pop, I’m a huge fan of it. I’ll def check out those albums.

It’s not straight up dream pop, but some tracks are close enough

This is in a different wheelhouse to Beach House, Cocteau Twins, Grouper, etc. Apples and oranges imo, but I can see the surface similarities

interesting how the album art makes the girl look real while the guy is dream-like. wonder if there's any significance or if anybody has pointed that out yet

I’ve interpreted it as the women being more concrete and “real” where as the man is always stuck in his dream world, even though it’s probably the opposite (the man being real, but having this idealized, dream like version of the women)
