Yh, the fact that this isn't melodeath is one of the reasons I'm not as big of a fan of this compared to previous albums. They have such an interesting melodic sound and this just sounds like one big (but still good) wall of low-rumbling noise, for the most part. Seems a shame to lose one of the things that made them special.

Man for real? They haven’t really lost anything, just built on their previous albums. If anything they’ve become more melodic

If Dimorphic means that really distinctive emotive melody of a track like "The Vermillion", then sure I guess I see what the point is but this album as a whole is extremely tonally diverse. There's so much progressive, yet melodic fretwork going on in these songs.

Agreed gameofmetal. There are so many interesting melodic choices on here and each song has it's own distinct progression. Very impressed by this on my first listens.

Yh, you explained my point better than I managed to, lol. I mean explicitly melodic rather than implicitly, if that makes any sense without sounding overly pretentious. Although in fairness I've probably heard this album as a whole a total of 3-4 times, so I'm absolutely not the most fitting judge in this regard. By far my favourite track on this album is Golgothan Tongues, and if I remember correctly it's the most directly melodic track on the album? Though I'm totally ready to be embarrassingly proven wrong.

I might prefer Anareta to this but it's close, I'm still (retrospectively) a big fan of their song-writing choices & progression as a band.
