Cut everything from that song except that one good riff in the beginning and the song would be a better song and a better opener

Luminary would have been better if it was expanded upon more, the components it does have are good. But it's just too short, too predictable, too generic of song structure. Hence making it feel bland and dull by extension.

Binaural version? That's the first I've heard of such a thing.

It totally wasn't what you'd hope it would be from the name

Polaris grew on me after a bit. This one........

Dan (and Anup) should have staid with Skyharbour, and Ashe should have stayed with Tesseract. At least if this was the guitar style they insisted on going with anyway (though I'd argue the underpinnings were there on ONE, just mixed in a way it wasn't so in your face)

And why Dan The God Vocalist wont show his true chops since coming back is just perplexing AF! All the vocal work he did while away, One included, is friggin' masterful. I just don't get it. It's not like he hasn't performed some lusciously melodied over hard low dent dent denty dent before, or more!

"it was expanded upon more"

This is serious a huge issue since Polaris. Too many moments that have me at a certain level of immersion and awe, but then it goes straight back to the typical-esq djent thing. Seems clear that's on purpose, but they need to not lol.

It's easy tbh. Dan isn't a god, he is human. One isn't masterful, it's (as Dan said in interviews) impossible t9 perform live the way he did it on record. That's because he was young and dumb back then and didn't have the understanding that vocal lines that are hard have to be performed every night in tour ...

And then there is the aspect of vocal health. You really have to look at what your voice is good at and build from there, instead of pushing in one direction and hoping your voice will submit to your will. So Dan puts stuff on record that he is comfortable with for live performances. Have lots of respect for that approach tbh.

But still, Tesseract as a whole really grew off me

I say AS and One are on the same level,I haven't listened to Sonder in sometime but from what I remember, it didn't really have as many standout moments. All in all, I'd say that ranking is pretty accurate.

In one was I suppose that's fair. In the other, his stuff over time says otherwise though I guess that explains why things turned out the way they are. Skyharbour definitely wants to stretch their legs, presumable more than Dan's comfortable with (partially anyway. Who knows what all went on behind the scenes with all involved parties)

At the same time, it's not like he doesn't work his chops on Sonder, even if it is just in doses.

This! I honestly feel like I'm missing something if I skip over it. To be fair, it has a few ideas that I find playing in my head that I come back to. Sadly thats the overarching issue. As mentioned, too many moments that really should have been expanded upon

If you cut the double track and Luminary, it's a killer EP honestly. What remains would be Tesseract at their best imo
