Bit overrated but still great. No Closer To Heaven is better.

NCTH is also boring, although it's marginally less annoying and Cardinals is better than any song on here by a large margin.

But No Closer To Heaven has so much disposable bullshit, this album is at the very least consistent crossing out a song or two.

I personally thought that NCTH was awesome all the way through. Do some tracks outshine others? Definitely. But same goes for TGG
This album is pretty consistent but the band seems to have traded their fire/energy for a bigger, grand emo/alt rock sound, but this is one of those bands at least for me that really really needs that energy and it seems pretty lost on here

Just saw them last night and man they only get better. All the songs from this LP go hard and sound better live than they do on the record (cheers crappy production). I also got gut punched by the ocean grew hands in a way I never have by the awful tinny version on here

I still think THE GREATEST GENERATION is their best. This is either second or third, still not sure if I prefer it to NO CLOSER TO HEAVEN or not.
It's more consistent than NO CLOSER, but NO CLOSER's "highs" are higher.

I can see these new songs killing live also not sure if Raining In Kyoto is my fav opening track or if There, There is.

Nothing truly beats There There tbh

Raining In Kyoto is like top ten Wonder Years for me, but not a great opener. I like when bands do something like Brothers/Cardinals. There, There and Came Out Swinging are also much better openers.
