This record bangs but it has a lot of shitty qualities too and clearly they just want to be a more melodic ETID

I can't really point out too many crap qualities tbh. More for me some songs just didn't vibe as well as others.

Ten Dogs is actually a highlight for me.... I've said it before but I feel like Kappa is the one song that falls flat.

And I do agree that they are a more melodic ETID, I liked this better than Low Teens and I hold that album pretty high

I much prefer Keith's cleans to these cleans, that's where this kind of falls off for me. They aren't bad but they don't do a ton for me either. It's not because I think he is necessarily a "technically" better vocalist, but Keith just has more personality imo which makes ETID a bit more memorable then these guys.

These dudes are kids! ETID are grown ups with a whole discopedia for our amuse. This album has a lot (if not all) of memorable tracks imo. This is something special but probably they'll find their own identity and won't be as great or iconic as ETID.

^this. Although his voice in White Lighters is the shit! Too sad they don't seem to get any kind recognition in general for putting out such a good album. BTW vocalist is 25 or 26 if I remember correctly.

I like his cleans except for when he tries to go all Keith Buckley by adding sassiness to his singing, then it sounds kind of bad

Could you give an example please?

He does it really cringily on Blemish when he cleanly sings "let me dig a little deeper inside the skin". He really overemphasizes "dig" and "deeper" on that line and it seems so forced. He does it on Echo and Dust towards the end with those cleans
