I even had the chance to borrow Ride the Lightning and MOP free from the library today, and I didn't.
If I could recommend one album for you to go out of your way to get for free from the library, it would be Ride The Lightning. Best metal record ever.

And yes, review is pretty bad. It does a fair job bashing the album, but concludes that if you like guitar solos then this will be satisfying. Ok. What I learned from this review:
1. James' vocals are awful
2. The riffs sound the same
3. The solos are awful
Respectable opinions, but no backing. It's a thrash album, everything is going to be "thrashy," or so to speak. But each song has different tempos and distinguishable, and not to mention, pretty awesome riffs. One thing about thrash is that, to some extent, repetitiveness is key. Don't like harsh vocals - understood, then stay away from thrash.

Yes, but it usually involves me trying to fit as many dicks into my mouth as possible. I'm a lot funnier when I hate something.

I love harsh vocals. And since Hetfield doesn't do harsh vocals, it's okay.

I think a 1.5 is very harsh for MOP. I also feel he did that to get a rise out of us, which worked. The dude giving this a 1.5 is like somebody giving Blackwater Park a 1.5, which makes people go insane.

^^ Well yeah thats debatable, Im just saying the dude had to expect some form of backlash for his poor rating. Im just using MOP and BWP as examples since those two records are two of the most respected on here.

And they are both overrated. MOP is not the classic people claim it to be, and BWP is no Still Life. (though I'm very well aware of the fact the just SOME of you people think otherwise)

I do know that this is the mother fucking album to crank when you drive. I've put up with a lot of shit from bad drivers this past week, no more. I'm going to put on some Battery and throw my boot at their car.
