"Current is also fantastic"

Yea thats their most underrated one tbh. Was jamming that shit last month and it still holds up.

Why though? They are better than pretty much any band in the same subgenre. Great songwriters, great riffs, amazing song structures, cool drum parts, emotive vocals - they have it all, really.

this is like the one band that I don't care doesn't really change up their sound from album to album because I resonate with the sound so much

I think there are loads of subtle changes in every song. With each consecutive listen, you begin getting a "stronger" feel of just how much variety they incorporate into their music. And the more time you invest in a Counterparts record, the more you realise just how much depth there is to their sound.

i’m so far out of this whole genre of music and have been for years but counterparts was playing in my headphones when my grandfather died in front of me in the hospital 8 years ago so i’ll Always see what’s up with their new stuff

Agreed with Prophets being their best. The rest just blurs together

I agree with the rest of their discog kind of blurring together, but I honestly just think they found their sweet spot and just ran with it.

But ya if it didn't do it for you by their 2nd album, none of the other ones are gonna convince u otherwise lmao

Yeah they found their niche and they stuck with it. And it appears to be effective so it's the smart thing to do. I enjoy bands like Revocation, Chevelle, Black Dahlia Murder, etc so it would be very hypocritical of me to say otherwise lol

Those are two my favorites haha. Both those songs go hard af. Brendan’s delivery is just spot on with those damn one liners leading into breakdowns.
