if they did another album like Language, I'd be okay with that, not this diet-post-rock bs

I thought this was pretty sweet. Could have been more interesting if it was more experimental, but it kept me interested through the whole thing

This is their most experimental yet though. Pensive is about their most beautiful and experimental tracks yet.

This is their most experimental? Well, this seemed a little samey to me, but I need to dig into it a little deeper anyway.

I think aside from Intrinsic (seriously, what the fuck was that?) TC have been pretty consistent thus far

Not really. Now obviously I can't sway you on the quality of their newer releases, but I think it's definitely fair to say that this is not the same band we heard on Exoplanet. It's an entirely different sound and dynamic altogether.

Clearly i was refering to the quality of their releases. Language, Exoplanet and this are either 4 or 4.5 for me, that's why i consider them consistent aside from Intrinsic. Their sound has changed rather drastically of course but Lessard is the better fit so that is a plus in and of itself

Definitely a different band here but I think we all know what a band delves into if they keep doing annoying djent shit forever. Not that Exoplanet was that, I actually love that album but you know what I mean. It’s awesome to see them exploring more mature emotions and textures here.

Return To The Earth is so fucking good. These guys just have the melodies, even if their sound isn't the most original thing out there

"Return To The Earth is so fucking good."

if you don't cry on that one (even slightly my macho-friends) you may never get this one...

A soothing piece about drugs and misery, love it, especially the vocals

I even feel there is a little kind of Chino Moreno-esque vibe to his laid-back delivery, which are usually on the mellow and quite often darker Deftones songs. Lucky You maybe?

The lyrics to Pensive are so lovely, sensitive and empathetic. That’s how far they’ve come to me it’s amazing.

Somewhat ethereal vocals like tool with some Deftones vibe to it i'd agree sizeo. But more emotional and less metaphorical than those two for me.

That's more or less what i meant. And one can really tell that Lessard felt those lyrics when he wrote them

Yea, there is something special to these vocals that touches me on a more personal level. People may say his vocals lack energy here, but they do what they do really, really well.
