yes, your rating is appropriate *strokes chin, exhales deeply, thinks about how superior pop as a genre is to indie rock*

This is a really solid and mature release but I really miss Andy's METN era snarl and energy

The Silence makes me tear up as well, much in the same way that A Beginning did in TDH Act V. Andy has definitely picked up some storytelling nous from Casey and it really shines on this album

'Why is this band called Manchester Orchestra?'

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but, yes He chose Manchester because he felt that city had a lot of artistic merit- he loves the place. But, he also added Orchestra because, though he initially started out just writing songs and playing himself, he liked the idea of having a supporting musicians akin to an orchestra to round out the band and performances.

That's what I was hoping wasn't the case, a band name this awful you want a good reason why it was chosen.

1/10 band name, 1/10 reasoning for choosing it.

I've listened to this loads now and I still don't get it, it's just sort of insipid like Silversun Pickups, might drop it back to a 2-2.5. I've put more effort into this album than anything else this year, even more than that Lorde album.
