I think all of his albums are good but for me he's an artist that took his foot off the gas but didn't introduce any new strengths to compensate (except for the production choices on this)

Really? There's an extremely obvious improvement I've noticed these past 3 albums: HOOKS. His hooks are actually catchy and well written now when he used to fall victim to one word hooks or straight up not doing them

Lemme know and norf norf are both awesome beats. I guess in some sense I don’t know this guy’s music that well though

Yeah unfortunately I think the majority of his hooks are bland/poorly written that's my biggest issue with his newer stuff

Thats wild cuz all of his best hooks are on the new albums lmao. Magic, Momma, Etouffe, etc

The hook on Etouffe is probably my favourite thing from the new album, aside from how amazing the drums sound on every beat

yea much has been said about the production but a song like "party people" perfectly sums up my feelings about Vince. dude is capable of crafting a fresh and genre bending song but prefers to play it safe.

Jump off the Roof still has his best hook by far, just throwing that out there. I'll try this new album against my better judgement tho lol

I watched the first episode of his show and it seemed like a show where the plot is that he’s cool and everyone else is lame

I saw my youngest brother yesterday and mentioned in passing that I thought this was Staples’ best album and he just looked at me, said “oldhead ass take” and walked out of the room
