I love DU and CL to pieces, but at times this album creeps up on me and some days it's just the best.

Missing Man leaked.

Break Angels is awesome. It reminds me a lot of Crash Love. Very fun song.

Back Into The Sun reminds me of The Pixies. Has a really nostalgic vibe to it. Pretty somber but very cool.

The Missing Man... god damn. This song is unlike anything AFI has ever done. And it's fucking incredible. Like, benchmarking shit for me.

Fuck, now I'm insanely hyped for the next full length.

Break Angels was god damn top tier AFI.



Davey sounds a little weird throughout but not in a bad way by any means. it's more reminiscent of Crash Love/way closer to how I wanted him to sound



Back Into The Sun is great too.



The title track has a weak hook but everything else about it is really pretty. It sounds like a grower too.



Easily the most ambitious this band has sounded in...ever, I love it. I hope they keep up this style.

for the first 3 songs alone, this is definitely better than this album and probably better than Burials too. That will become more definite once this title track grows on me



I also wish they kept that acoustic part going in Back Into The Sun for a little longer but who cares, the chorus is still amazing.

Yeah I've really noticed how much they are leaning more on their musicianship in the two songs I've heard. I think this builds on Blood, though. I listened recently and particularly noticed how much more groove Adam develops on Blood. His best performance of their discography I think.

No seriously, Adam has been killing it for these past 2 releases. I've known he always had it in him to try to push the boundaries of some of what are typically just alt rock songs. Jade kills it here too. This is exactly what I wanted from him. They all sound like they're having fun with this.
