It’s very smooth and I did almost forget which lab I was listening to at one point. They definitely lean on their established sound for better or worse. To be fair I was half asleep, so need to check again

Yes it's very very Stereolab, which of course means I love it. I mean this in a good way: it's quite homogenous, it all blends together very well, both instrumentally and because of Laetitia's cool delivery.
Great vibes, great album.

Might start with Transient and skip to this. If I really love it, I'd probably just do all four in that run.

Transient + the run from here to Sound-Dust (inc Fluorescences) is the king lab, the two in between are a weird transitional patch
and everything I've heard from the new one so far is sounding *lovely*

Think I'll probably go for Transient next. Gonna have to jam the new one at some point too.

New one is sounding like their best since Sound-Dust? Only halfway through but it is bringing the good vibe

first descriptor for the new one on RYM is "socialism" so I decided not to listen

Good on you, can't let the godless socialist pederasts infect our mind compounds

it’s a cool album. weak middle section and the vocals feel pretty uninspired throughout but there’s some cool dynamic stuff happening structurally and some fun nice shifty jams

Oh yeaaahhh. The lounge influence gives this a completely new dimension than Transient. The more involved, swung grooves and more colorful chording really put it over the top.
