probably true. this is just pretty clearly my least fave so I had to jab that playful lol in there

i maintain that luc's compositional skills have evolved in sophistication with each record and that's why they're potentially the most incredible band around, but i think obscura might be their most perfect album anyway

i thought gorguts were absolutely unbelievable tbh. honestly tho, im rlly not a fan of this. its kinda dull and even tho the performance of it live was impressive i think seeing it live highlights some of my issues with it. orphans tho....i couldnt believe it lol.

Orphans was unreal, agreed. Wish they played an encore.

They recreated this music perfectly though, one of the best parts was how excellently they did the ambient track before Winds of Dogma.

wow for real? if anything when they played it live it brought out the best sections and actually got me to appreciate it even more. that middle section where lemay was conducting the brutal distorted feedback was fucking magical

I agree with you there. It was reproduced perfectly in the live setting and made me enjoy it a whole lot more. The drums in particular were extremely impressive.
